Emerging from Tel Aviv’s bustling young arts scene, TYP has spent few years fusing electro-pop with graphic design, video, dance, fashion and architecture. The band was founded by singer-songwriter Ivri Lider and producer Johnny Goldstein, and has always been about the exploration of different aesthetic spheres. This Frankenstein-esque mixture of artistic disciplines is never more pronounced than in a live setting - the band has performed against a backdrop of models strutting their stuff on the catwalk, at a massive rave in the desert, amidst the lavishness of Cannes Marina, in the darkness of Earth Hour, and at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, where they projected a dazzling 3D video across the Herta and Paul Amir Building. TYP’s breakthrough came in July 2011 with the release of the single, ‘D.I.S.C.O.’, a cover of the 1970s Ottawan classic, and soon after they signed a three-album deal with Polydor/Universal Their first album ‘9AM to 5PM, 5PM to Whenever’ was released in 2012 in France, Belgium, the USA and Canada - and became a top 10 hit in France. TYP has received back-to-back nominations for Best Israeli Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as one for Best European Act.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

דמויות מפתח בסצינה התרבותית הגועשת של תל אביב, TYP בילו את השנים האחרונות בשידוך של אלקטרו-פופ עם עיצוב חדשני, אמנות וידאו, ריקוד, אופנה וארכיטקטורה כדי להרכיב קולקטיב יצירתי. ההרכב נוסד על ידי הזמר והיוצר עברי לידר והמפיק המוזיקלי ג'וני גולדשטיין ומהרגע הראשון שם לעצמו למטרה לחקור עולמות שונים של אסתטיקה ויופי. התערובת יוצאת הדופן הזו של צורות אומנות אודיופוניות לצד ויזואליות מגיעה לפסגת הביטוי שלה במימד החי. בין היתר, הלהקה ביצעה את שיריה לצד דוגמני מסלול מתהלכים, על רקע מדברי ברייב ריקודים ענק, אל מול נופיה המופלאים של המרינה בקאן, בחסות החשיכה של "שעת כדור הארץ" ובין כותלי מוזיאון תל אביב - בו הם הקרינו מיצג תלת מימדי מסחרר על גבי קירות הבניין.

הפריצה של TYP הגיעה ביולי 2011 עם שחרורו של הסינגל "D.I.S.C.O.", גרסת כיסוי לשיר הקלאסי של Ottawan משנות השבעים. במסגרת פריצה זו ההרכב הוחתם לעסקה רחבה של 3 אלבומים בחברת התקליטים Polydor/Universal, ואלבומם הראשון, "9AM to 5PM, 5PM to Whenever" שוחרר והופץ בשנת 2012 בארה"ב, קנדה, בלגיה וצרפת - בה הוא אף הגיע למעמד top 10 hit. 

TYP היו מועמדים לפרס "ההרכב הישראלי הטוב ביותר" בפרסי Mtv Europe Music Awards, כמו גם לפרס "ההרכב האירופי הטוב ביותר".
